With the goal of developing a new Activate game the team visited Activate's Burlington location to experience first hand their active, engaging, gaming experience.

Overall Thoughts after our Activate experience
Urgency creates more enjoyment rather than do one thing many times
Having things to avoid creates a sense of adrenaline
Hide is more collaborative
Can get information overload due to the noise in other rooms
Too many inputs frustrates people (control proved to be hard to learn on the first attempt)
Our team found that Pipes was not as engaging, though there are classmates who have that as their favorite game
After playing in all the rooms at least once the team had the following as their favorites.
Favourite games:
- Laser
- Megagrid
- Hide
The common factors that set these apart were how much they made us move and also the combination of objectives to achieve with obstacles to avoid gave a good adrenaline rush.
Our goal will be to design a game that carries both of these concepts.
However, before we constrained ourself to these goals we invested some time generating as many game ideas we could think of no matter how feasible.
All these games are listed below in no particular order. If you would like to see more feasible games with a little more detail please see the next post.
Game Ideas

Bowling based game (skeeball)
Large scale pinball

Football game similar to hoops
Ring toss game (where pegs light up and can move to release the rings)
Wheelchair game where the wheels act as inputs

Monkey bars
Double Dutch jump rope
George of the jungle room

Throw balls at children and you protect the thing in the middle
