Hey Protectors!
The team here at FDP group 49 is excited to unveil the most recent progress of the Activate Demo room! Let's take a dive into the details and see what you can expect from your Protect experience!

From the diagram, we can see that there are a lot of components in this room! Let's break it down a bit! First, a bit of context.
What is Protect?
For those of you new to the Protect project, Protect is a game made in partnership with Activate designed to get people moving! The goal of the game is simple: stop the launcher from hitting the back wall with its projectiles. At the same time, you may be asked to complete other miscellaneous tasks, so stay alert and don't let your guard down!
Back Sensor Wall
As a protector, it is up to you to defend this back wall from enemy projectiles! A sensor will be used to detect if anything makes contact with the wall, so no cheating!
Side Wall + Buttons
To add to the challenge, a side wall equipped with buttons will be built to allow for additional inputs. With enough buttons, anything is possible!
Allotted Movement Zone
With great ball launching capabilities comes great responsibility. That's why we have a restricted zone within the room. Not only does this increase the safety of the game, it adds an extra layer of difficulty to the room. No standing in front of the launcher! Cool blocks only!
Launcher
The ultimate opponent! The launcher has only 1 goal: hitting that back wall! With motion in 2 rotational axes, this machine can aim anywhere, so you better make sure you can get there too!
Spinning Lidar
Things are so much cooler when they spin! That's why we have decided to add a spinning Lidar sensor to the room. With a Lidar sensor, we can add all sorts of cool features, such as ducking detection, person detection, or even allotted zone reinforcement. The power of circles!
Ball
The most simple component, the goal of the ball is to be a safe and fun projectile to block, dodge, or throw! All thrill, no danger!
